chalk messages...

this was a recent DIY project i did.. I transformed a frame that i found clearanced at target for $3.00(!) into a chalk board... check it out:

Here is the frame before.. black with clear glass (i had already taken the glass and matte out..)

I used Rust-oleum's chalk board paint from home depot and some Krylon spray paint in blue ocean breeze that I already had...

I used a foam brush to paint the chalk board paint on the glass...

then spray painted the frame ...

Here is the finished result. I finished it the weekend of Valentine's Day so my hubby left me a nice little note and beautiful bouquet of flowers! love him!

  1. Totally adorable. I've been wanting to do this and you've definitely inspired me to go for it!

  2. Cool project! I'm inspired! Maybe I'll do it in a pretty gloss orange!

  3. Looks great! Love chalkboards.

  4. I'm planning the decor for my soon-to-be new house at the moment and I'm going to need it to feature a chalk board as cute as this! Love the colour you've used for the frame =)

  5. This looks so good... thank goodness for Pinterest, I tell ya! Checkout my winter weather playlist! Follow if you like. :)
